Growing up in Fairfield, a small farming town in the Northwest part of Montana, I knew at a very young age that sports were going to be a big part of my life. With eight siblings I learned fast that athletics was a great way to keep us all occupied. From swimming in irrigation canals to back yard basketball tournaments to biking miles down country roads to matches at the nearest tennis courts, I quickly developed athletic skills that carried me through years of competitive play.

I attended one year at Montana State University at Billings studying health/education, while training and working in the campus gym. During this time I refereed basketball, coached a swim team, and gave swimming lessons. My sophomore year I transferred to Montana State University In Bozeman and continued my studies. While there I continued to run competitively and started to teach private swimming lessons at Riverside Country Club.

In 2002 I moved to Provincetown. It was around this time that I began seriously lifting weights. It quickly became an important part of my life. The addition of weights to the cardio I had always loved took my training to a new level.

Through my experiences, from competitive running and swimming, I learned first hand the benefits of interval training. Whether it is to improve endurance, increase fat loss and calorie burning or just improve personal performance. When coaching indoor cycling I concentrate on interval training throughout all my programs. Paying attention to appropriate cadence and the usage of resistance to change heart rate, helps stay true to the sport of cycling, while conditioning the muscles and the heart!

In addition to coaching group exercise I work as a personal trainer with individuals focusing primarily on weight training. My training is based on mutual respect. I work at all levels and coach toward a variety of personal goals. I believe that with the right diet, exercise, and attitude, ANYTHING is possible.
